Ek Qatra Khoon (A Drop of Blood) by Ismat Chughtai, describes the historic Battle of Karbala and the martyrdom of the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed , Hazrat Imam Hussein (AS). The story starts from the childhood of Hazrat Imam Hussein and the love and affection the Prophet showered on his grandchildren and tell us about the events till the tragic incident of Karbala.
Some critics say that this novel is the prose of Meer Anees ‘Marsiya’. Written in very simple language, the novel is worth reading.
